Ivyland, Pennsylvania – Ashfield, part of UDG Healthcare, is excited to announce the appointment of Amy Van Sant, PharmD, MBA as Director, Medical Information in its Ivyland, PA office. In this newly created role, Amy will play a critical role in developing, communicating and driving Medical Information strategy.
Prior to joining Ashfield Healthcare, Amy spent over 10 years at Johnson & Johnson supporting the biopharmaceutical business. Her experience in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry includes various Medical Information and Regulatory roles. Her most recent corporate role was a position she held for more than 4 years as Associate Director, Regulatory Advertising and Promotion. She was responsible for providing expertise and strategic guidance in accordance with FDA Regulations and Guidance, Johnson & Johnson Guidance, and Health Care Compliance Guidelines and Policy to support the Janssen Biotech, Inc. business, and she represented the Regulatory Advertising and Promotion department at Promotional Review Committee to review Sales Training and Marketing (promotional) materials related to Immunology products.
Amy previously spent more than 6 years in the Medical Information department for the Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson. She was responsible for responding to medical inquiries from healthcare professionals, evaluating medical and scientific literature, creating written and verbal responses, coordination of evidence-based medicine initiatives, creating AMCP dossiers, providing clinical and strategic input for various projects (i.e. competitive intelligence, business planning, medical convention planning, launch planning, medical slide preparation, and training), and she represented the Medical Information department at Promotional Review Committee to review Sales Training and Marketing (promotional) materials.
During her tenure at Johnson & Johnson, Amy was selected for a number awards related to her leadership with product launches, competitive intelligence initiatives, coordination of evidence-based medicine initiatives, and in recognition of her collaboration with Marketing and Sales Training.
Amy received her Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, and her Master of Business Administration in Pharmaceutical Management at Drexel University, LeBow College of Business.
Outside of Ashfield, Amy enjoys spending time with her husband, Bill, and their son, Billy (3). Amy and her family love to travel, and are avid sports fans, spending time at baseball, hockey, and football sporting events.
