Ange Cairns and Sally Woolston promoted to new roles to help strengthen Compliance Team

Ashfield has announced two promotions to bolster its Quality & Compliance Team. Ange Cairns has been promoted as Ashfield Divisional Director for Quality & Compliance, and has become a member of Ashfield’s Divisional Board. Sally Woolston takes the position as EUCAN (Europe & Canada) Head of Commercial & Clinical Quality & Compliance for all of Commercial & Clinical Operations throughout Europe and Canada.

In these newly created Ashfield divisional appointments, Ange and Sally will implement the vision and strategy for quality and compliance standards across all Ashfield businesses globally, working closely with the business leaders to keep pace with the increasingly stringent requirements of the industry as a whole, and to share and co-ordinate compliance and quality expertise that brings value to local and global clients.

Ange has extensive experience in medical communications and a strong track record of fulfilling leadership roles within Medical and Scientific Services, while Sally has both front line medical and business management experience, and has managed multiple national projects, including a large vaccines programme for a leading industry player. The Ashfield division is integral to UDG’s business and we aim to continually to improve our client offering.”

Angela-CairnsAnge began her career in medical communications over 30 years ago, and started working for Ashfield as Senior Vice President and Global Compliance Team Leader, where she was responsible for compliance and quality across Ashfield Healthcare Communications, ensuring that the company’s products and services complied with pharmaceutical industry laws, regulations and guidelines, and for providing appropriate advice to internal teams. She is a regular speaker and facilitator at medical communications and publication planning meetings and congresses.

 

Sally-Woolston-webSally qualified as a registered nurse in 1996 and worked for the first eight years in the NHS specialising in coronary care and respiratory medicine. She began working for Ashfield in 2007 and in 2013 became Medical Compliance Manager, a role which quickly evolved into the Quality Department Manager, where she was responsible for the maintenance, review and implementation of the Quality Management Framework across the UK and Ireland. Sally was also the Clinical Governance lead for both countries and was the registered manager for the Care Quality Commission in the UK and the Scottish and Irish equivalents.
