Representatives from across the organisation attended this ninth MedComms networking careers event in Oxford on 15th January.

This was a particularly well attended event with an enthusiastic audience of post-docs and DPhil/PhD students and others from the biomedical sciences departments within and around Oxford and from other Universities across the UK, all eager to explore medical writing and account management in MedComms as attractive career options.  Throughout the course of the day, the team met with and have since been in communication with over 40 interested potential candidates for both current and future resource requirements.

Ashfield Healthcare Communications attendees included; Julie Beeso, Medical and Scientific Services Director, Watermeadow; Francesca Hemingway, Senior Medical Writer, Watermeadow; Liam Sebag-Montefiore, Medical Writer Watermeadow; Jane Barton, HR Advisor, Ashfield Healthcare Communications and Tracey Ellis, Corporate Recruiter, Ashfield Healthcare Communications.

Traditionally, KnowledgePoint360 Group and Watermeadow have had great success in finding potential candidates from such networking events so we are optimistic the Ashfield Healthcare Communications group will collectively build upon this success.  Attendance at the recent London Medcomms networking event has already resulted in three successful hires for the organisation and we are hoping for similar success from this Oxford event.  We have already received a positive response from attendees following the event, one attendee commenting, I also just want to say thank you so much for your great advice last week; your reasons for leaving research is exactly how I’m feeling at the moment. I’m pretty excited about medical communications now!”

Thanks to all of our representatives for taking the time to attend the event and particular thanks to Kate Harrison, Emma Catherall and Jim Lock for pulling out all the stops so we could use the brand new Ashfield Stand and promotional material which looked amazing.
