November 2020-Fort Washington, PA: Ashfield, part of UDG Healthcare plc, a global leader in commercialization services for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry, is pleased to announce the appointment of Diane Giaquinta, Pharm.D., as Vice President of Market Research, Ashfield Market Access.

A consultant for Ashfield Market Access since 2015 working closely on managed care strategies and payer market research, Diane now becomes a full-time team employee, reporting directly to Clint Burrus, CEO, Ashfield Market Access. Diane will be based in Southern California.

In her role as Vice President, Diane will participate in payer strategy development and lead the market research efforts for Ashfield’s clients. These market research services include conducting  1:1 payer research, online surveys, ad boards and Mock Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) and Value Assessment Committees (VAC) meetings.

Diane brings a wealth of experience and a unique perspective to the job, having served in senior management positions in both managed care pharmacy and pharmaceutical companies. A degreed pharmacist, she obtained her Doctorate in Pharmacy from the University of Southern California. Early in her career she established a national Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM) company for WellPoint Health Networks, a subsidiary of Blue Cross of California, where she maintained profit and loss responsibility for a division that grew from 1.6 million to 6.8 million members under her leadership.

In 1995 Diane moved to Bristol Myers Squibb Pharmaceuticals where she served as Vice President, Health Systems Management, responsible for international healthcare strategy development, addressing evolving healthcare systems and how a pharmaceutical company might need to change its marketing practices to address them. Subsequent to this role, Diane started her own consulting business to work with the pharmaceutical industry and managed care organizations to envision the future in product commercialization and set strategy to take advantage of emerging trends.

She was a founding member and former president of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP), and is currently a fellow of the Academy (FAMCP). She is an active member of the Past Presidents committee, which provides strategic insight on managed care pharmacy issues to the current AMCP Board of Directors.
