Last Thursday, Ashfield Meetings & Events invited children of all ages to join their parents in a fun-filled day getting arty, exploring careers, pondering their future aspirations and engaging in productive play.

Bring Your Kids To Work Day shows children what their parents do while they’re at school with the aim of shaping their future career view. On 27 April, Ashfield hosted over 30 bright-eyed and energetic boys and girls for a day full of activities illustrating what it’s like to work at Ashfield Meetings & Events.

Both Indianapolis and Ivyland offices hosted these potential future event professionals with a welcome breakfast and a plenary session spent customizing name badges. Once the attendees got settled and acquainted with each other they participated in a workshop about their career aspirations, with responses ranging from superheroes to nurses (and even an emergency medical technician).

More activities followed around the skills planners need to be successful in their day-to-day roles. One employee hosted a calligraphy session for the older children, showcasing how to design custom signage with fancy fonts. There was also a short session spent learning Spanish, giving the children the rudimentary skills needed to communicate with their global peers.

Overall, the children had an exciting day exploring life at a meeting planning agency. The children left inspired, clutching certificates for completing their first day of work with Ashfield Meetings & Events.
