Between July 20 – August 14 2015, Ashfield Pharmacovigilance participated in a drive that collects school supplies for the Crayons2Calculators program, which provides free school supplies to Durham public school teachers.

Teachers report that they spend, on average, nearly $1,000 of their own money to supply their classrooms each year. 75% of teachers say that a lack of supplies hinders their ability to implement their desired lessons. 62% of students in Durham public schools are living at or near the poverty level, these much needed supplies are a huge help to teachers who would otherwise have to provide on their own or go without.
Ashfield Pharmacovigilance (DSA) staff contributed crayons, pencils, clipboards, notebooks, calculators, hand sanitizer and more to this outstanding program. With the help of Ashfield Pharmacovigilance, Crayons2Calculators last year exceeded $100,000 in supplies and even had to get an additional storage unit to store all the donations!
