One of our Multichannel Directors, Jane Dwire, attended the patient track sessions at eyeforpharma 2015 with three questions in mind: what should patient centricity mean to pharma, how far away is the industry and how will it get there?

This article explores these questions and provides recommendations about the different ways in which pharma can play a key role in helping patients take control and improve their health outcomes e.g.:

• Embedding patient insight into working practices, from R&D onwards
• Creating product agnostic services that benefit patient populations and systems of care
• Partnering with patient groups and other healthcare players
• Measuring success by patient and societal outcomes

Many of the presentations at eyeforpharma were from individuals with a heavily patient-focused role within their organisation. As a result, the article includes advice and case studies from those pharma companies who are already leading the way.
