A little bit about Dave
My work background is good old-fashioned advertising…cars, cruises, condoms – all the usual. I’ve worked in most of the North West’s big network agencies. Then, I was freelance for eight years, which gives you an ‘interesting’ new perspective on the business. Away from the tyranny of the keyboard, I have one son and one wife.
What drew you to Ashfield Healthcare Communications?
I had a few informal chats with Rob, our Head of Creative and he sold me on where he wanted the creative department – and the agency as a whole – to be in a couple of years’ time, and how we were going to get there. It’s going to be challenging, but that’s the fun of it.
What is your typical day?
I could be searching a single, apposite word as part of a naming project, or thundering out 2000 words for one of our agency opinion pieces. I also work closely with our designers to develop the creative concepts which drive our client’s campaigns.
What is the best part of your job?
Getting something down on the page that you just know does the job. Something rock-solid strategically. Exciting creatively. And which, ultimately, may make some people’s life a little bit better.
What 3 words would you use to describe the culture at Ashfield Healthcare Communications?
What is your favourite book?
‘The Power & The Glory’ by Graham Greene. An alcoholic priest, billiards, bananas, a dentist. You in?
What are the top 3 things on your bucket list?
Continue to travel as much as possible – “there’s a whole lotta world out there to see.”
I’ve promised myself I’ll go to one World Cup
To be immortal
