A little about Rich
I am a happy go-lucky-guy. Born in Newcastle, raised in Leicestershire, I have lived up north for nearly 10 years. I am a big vinyl collector, love going to wrestling shows and gigs in my spare time. I write a lot as well and have had some of my poetry published. I haven’t cracked that novel yet, chronic writers block has put paid to that. I also volunteer at Just Drop In, a charity in Macclesfield that helps children with counselling and overcoming their issues and I love doing that.
How did you get into this role?
I have been an Account Manager for some years but after a good period in one place, I wanted a new challenge. I was given this job description and felt it was just the challenge I was looking for, a couple of tough interviews later and I found myself here.
What is a typical day like for you?
Varied and busy. It usually involves reviewing and analyzing data from the various activities I do with my clients, writing briefs for creative and in between, ensuring all the little things are kept on top of. No one day is the same but being involved in multiple different things is always good.
What three words would you use to describe the culture at Ashfield?
Collaborative, Driven, Open.
What interests you about account management?
The everyday challenges and variety of the role has always been something that excites me, but seeing a campaign come to life in all the different ways it does and working with great teams is why I come to work in the morning.
What are the top three things on your bucket list?
Go to Wrestle Mania, visit Japan and have a published novel.
What is the most fun and rewarding non-work related thing you have done on the job?
A great away day that assessed our work type was excellent. We learnt a lot without knowing we were.
