Ashfield has announced that José Luis Casteig, currently General Manager of Ashfield Iberia, will become Chairman Ashfield Ibero-America and Enrique Bermejo, currently Head of Business Development, will take over the role of General Manager in Iberia. Ashfield is the leading outsourcing partner in the Iberia region offering sales solutions, call centre and clinical services to over 40 pharmaceutical companies.

As Chairman Ashfield Ibero-America, José Luis will report directly to Julian Tompkins, President of Ashfield Commercial and Clinical. In this critical new role, José Luis will focus on strategy development, customer partnerships and expanding Ashfield’s interests in Latin America. He will continue to work closely with all the team in Ashfield Iberia.

Talking about his new responsibility, José Luis commented: « I’m delighted and enthusiastic about this professional promotion. My 32 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and commercial services will allow me to continue adding value to Ashfield: on the strategic development of our services, to understand our client needs through collaborating with them on new solutions, and to develop our presence in Latin-America. »

 

Enrique, now General Manager of Ashfield Iberia, joined the business having developed extensive experience in the local and international pharmaceutical and nutraceutical sectors. Previous roles include General Manager Danone Medical Nutrition Spain and a number of senior international marketing roles with Johnson & Johnson in Europe and the USA. Enrique is a qualified pharmacist and holds an MBA from IE Business School.

Talking about how his experience in the sector will help shape this role, Enrique said: “Having been in the pharma sector for more than 26 years, I understand the needs of our customers, the dynamics of the market and the risks and opportunities for the coming years in the pharmaceutical world. I have also personally used outsourced sales forces and patient programs in the assignments I have led in the past, helping me identify what will really deliver value for our customers.”

Discussing the future of Ashfield Iberia, Enrique explained: “Our vision for Ashfield Iberia is to help our clients to shape the future of the pharmaceutical market using our CSO services, most importantly in the areas of Patient Support and Multichannel – two areas that are growing quickly and where innovation is a critical success factor.”
