What is a typical day like?
It sounds like a cliché but there really isn’t a typical day! Generally speaking, it will be a mix of client calls sharing new ideas and feedback on how our campaigns are going, internal brainstorms to come up with our responses to client briefs and challenges, and working with our UX, digital and creative teams to develop brilliant solutions to wow our clients and their customers. I rarely know what the next week will bring and it’s what keeps the job so exciting.
What projects have you worked on that have been particularly interesting?
Sitting within the Strategy team means I get involved with really a wide range of projects, right from creating a marketing strategy for small start-ups through to large-scale digital strategy implementation for our global clients, and everything in between. One recent project that stands out was a disease awareness campaign aimed at GPs, who are notoriously busy people! It was a really interesting challenge and by co-creating the campaign with GPs we came up with an emotive campaign that really helped our messages resonate.
Best part about your job?
The fact that I get to apply my knowledge in so many different areas, different therapy areas, different audiences, and create communication strategies that span a huge range of channels. The core always stays the same, we understand the audience need, we understand the client and their goals, and we create a compelling story that we execute brilliantly – how different that end result looks like never ceases to amaze me.
Most exciting place you have travelled to with work?
I’ve been fortunate enough to visit some really great places! A client meal overlooking Lake Geneva at sunset, Barcelona for a congress workshop, and visiting our offices in New Jersey and heading out in Manhattan all spring to mind – I try my best to see at least a little bit of the cities we travel to, as the airports all merge into one!
