On 28-29 June, Ashfield held the 5th annual PharmaLeadersForum in central Frankfurt. The theme for this year was “Medicine of the Future”, and the event included several interesting lectures and discussions on this topic – as well as opportunities for networking.
After introductions and a networking BBQ on Thursday evening, the event started with a welcome speech and introduction from Benjamin Rapp, Managing Director Ashfield D-A-CH, and René Godau, Director of Business Development D-A-CH.
Our first speaker was Julian Weinert, Managing Director of the Ambulance Health Innovation Agency Gmbh, who gave great insights into “Health Diffusion & Future Pharmacies“. Julian focused on the challenges of digital change – in particular the impact on medicine. He focused on the new opportunities that have arisen from this change, the impact on physicians and how sales within pharma have been affected.
NetSfere’s VP Sales Europe, Franz Obermayer, also addressed digitalisation in his presentation “Eliminating the WhatsApp Dilemma – Secure Mobile Communications in the Healthcare Sector“., focusing in particular on the benefits and dangers of mobile communication.
Our very own René Godau then went on to introduce our innovative outsourcing model, “The Ashfield Solution“. This transformational new approach offers tailored targeting and a promotional mix to reflect local market dynamics, formulary changes, physician preferences and behavior., It also enables Ashfield to help the client respond to market changes such as margin pressure, loss of exclusivity, new product data and new market entrants.
The use of data, modeling and calculations to identify and draw value was the subject of the next lecture, which was presented by Matthias Bodenstedt from McKinsey & Company. Amongst other topics, he reported on how leading pharmaceutical companies are optimising their ROIs through the cutting edge methods of machine learning and artificial intelligence.
The keynote speaker of the event was Sven Göth, who allowed us to take a look into the near future and described the effect that new technologies will have on the value systems of societies.
“The feedback for the event was so positive that we are continuing to develop the format and events like the PLF will continue to be part of our future,” concludes Benjamin Rapp.
