Ashfield Meetings & Events has once again been named in Special Events magazine's Top 50, an annual look at the largest players in the events industry.
In the previous twelve months Ashfield Meetings & Events managed more than 2,000 events in 54 countries, engaging with over 140,000 audience members through offices across the US and Europe.
In this year’s survey, Special Events asked large event producers to share their forecasts on major trends in event production. Integration of technology into events was a recurring theme from a large majority of the organisations involved.
“We have been exploring how best to use new technologies to create and enhance sensory and personalised learning journeys” said Gavin Houston (CEO Americas, Ashfield Meetings & Events). “By personalising the experience and considering the individual attendee rather than the collective group, you can make it more meaningful and create specific event tracks, specialist interest groups, interactive signage and personal event maps and programmes.” Houston cited the emerging sharing economy, the speed at which technology is adopted, positioning technology and the new possibilities virtual and augmented reality will bring as forces that will be critical components in delivering enhanced personalisation.
One of Ashfield Meetings & Events’ key highlights was the Science Of Meetings initiative, which focuses on delivering personalisation to healthcare professionals. The approach is backed by a white paper on the future of healthcare meetings based on independent research which investigated healthcare professionals’ communication preferences and future outlooks.
Other highlights for Ashfield Meetings & Events included relocating the US operations headquarters in Ivyland, PA to new office space designed to emphasise innovation and collaboration, and launching an internal employee development programme, Future Focus.
