ASHFIELD MEETINGS & EVENTS’ LOGISTICAL EXPERTISE AND FLAWLESS DELIVERY CONTRIBUTES TO SUCCESS OF AWARD-WINNING STUDENT OPTOMETRIST SUPPORT PROGRAMME – ARTICLE BY JESSICA STOKES, ASHFIELD MEETINGS & EVENTS SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

One of our core values at Ashfield Meetings & Events is ‘Partnership.’ Our partnerships – whether they’re with our colleagues, suppliers, or of course, our clients – are built on trust and that trust is earned by consistently delivering on our promises. That’s why when we learn that a successful paid partnership has also led to independent and official recognition in the form of an award, we genuinely could not be more delighted or proud.

Our client, Johnson & Johnson Vision, entered its STEP® (Success Through Education Programme) into an internal marketing award called the James Burke Award. STEP® is a cycle of events that aims to support undergraduate optometrists’ development as Eye Care Professionals – helping them become highly motivated, patient-focused specialists with high standards of clinical competence.

As appointed suppliers, our role within this programme has been to work closely with our client to carry out vital communication, administration and logistical activities for over 300 participants – helping to manage everything from invitations and data collection, to travel arrangements and accommodation requirements. Activities to ensure the smooth running of the programme have been detailed, complex and widespread, requiring the highest attention to detail from our supporting team.

Johnson & Johnson’s James E. Burke Marketing Awards honour former Chairman and CEO James E. Burke and celebrate the most courageous, creative and impactful programmes from across the Johnson & Johnson family of companies. From a significant number of submissions across 12 applicable categories, this innovative STEP® programme won the Europe Middle East and Africa (EMA) regional category for Patient and Professional Education.
