Ashfield Meetings & Events has been named in the CMI 25 list for 2016.

The CMI 25 list is compiled by Penton Media’s MeetingsNet, a digital magazine and website dedicated to the meetings and incentives industry that focuses on the US market. The annual list is a key resource for meeting managers, incentive travel executives and procurement professionals researching information on the meeting industry’s leading outsourcing partners.

The 2016 list is the tenth annual directory of the largest and most influential full service meeting and incentive travel management companies in the US. It is the fifth consecutive year that Ashfield Meetings & Events has been recognised by MeetingsNet in the CMI 25.

MeetingsNet Editor Sue Hatch said: “Meetings and incentives are extremely valuable to the businesses and cities that host them, to the participants who benefit from face-to-face networking and learning, and to the sponsoring organisations who get their messages delivered and their teams motivated. The CMI 25 list is the first place many corporations turn to find independent planning companies that have the experience to handle their most important events. As a group, the companies on the 2016 CMI 25 list executed more than 95,000 corporate meeting and incentive travel programmes in 2015, representing over 11 million group room nights.”

Gavin Houston (CEO Americas, Ashfield Meetings & Events) commented:  “We are delighted to be included in the list for the fifth year running. We enjoy the distinction of being the only provider in the list that specialises in providing meeting and event solutions solely to the life sciences industry. In the last 12 months this industry specialism has enabled us to expand our client list in this important market. We have undertaken successful consultancy projects, increased the volume of commercial meetings we deliver, and been appointed to implement several dedicated teams to deliver strategic meeting and convention management programs on behalf of our pharmaceutical clients. As a result of these partnerships, we moved our US headquarters in Ivyland, PA to larger premises that has additional capacity for continued growth. We are also planning new larger customised space for our Midwest office in Indianapolis.”

Houston added: ‘Key components of our new office locations is an ingenuity room and creative spaces that are designed to allow our complementary brand SPARK THINKING to fully integrate with our business. This has enabled our staff to be more immersed in the creative process and work on production elements of our integrated full service meetings management offering.”

Houston concluded: ‘We are excited about the year ahead and further developing our brand in the healthcare market to be the outsourced partner of choice both domestically and internationally for our clients. We are also continuing to connect our excellence with the Ashfield division to integrate multi-channel solutions across the product lifecycle with our colleagues in Ashfield Healthcare Communications.’

The MeetingsNet editors selected CMI 25 companies based on several factors, including the number of meetings and incentive travel programmes managed in 2015 and the total number of room nights represented by those meetings and incentives. They also considered the number of full-time employees at each company, as well as the percentage of the company’s 2015 revenues that came from organising corporate meetings and incentives versus association meetings or other sources

The CMI 25 list will be published in the September 2016 issue of the MeetingsNet tablet magazine.
