Ashfield Meetings & Events won an award for their work with AstraZeneca UK at the C&IT Excellence Awards 2014, held last Friday at the Grand Connaught Rooms, London.
The award for Pharma, Health & Beauty Event Of The Year was given to Ashfield Meetings & Events for their work delivering the AstraZeneca UK Marketing Company Sales Conference 2013. The same event was also shortlisted in the UK Conference Of The Year category.
The AstraZeneca UK Marketing Company Sales Conference (also known as the Together We Are event) was held at Wembley Stadium in September 2013 and was attended by over 660 people. The conference consisted of three meetings in one, as well as a gala dinner, awards ceremony and five-a-side football tournament. Ashfield Meetings & Events were responsible for project managing all aspects of the event (including creative, logistics and venue finding) and for taking the lead in coordinating all suppliers throughout the process to ensure the event ran smoothly. Feedback post-event showed the event’s success in meeting the client’s objectives with 97% of attendees indicating that the brand sessions were very good (or better) at helping them to be clear on their future priorities. Data also showed that 93% of attendees agreed in AstraZeneca’s future direction and key priorities and 92% agreed that they understood how their objectives were linked to AstraZeneca’s key priorities.
The C&IT Excellence Awards recognise and celebrate companies applying best practice to the creation, planning, production and management of innovative and successful events within B2B sectors. On the night Louise Goalen (Business Director Venue Finding, Ashfield Meetings & Events) and Rob Quayle (Meetings Leader & Head Of Events, AstraZeneca UK) picked up the award from presenter Mariella Frostrup.

From location, venue choice and branding, through to the use of innovative technology, the event was an extremely engaging four days for all delegates who attended.”
