At Ashfield, our success depends on our people, and we have outstanding colleagues working hard every day. With this in mind, we are proud to celebrate the very best of our people through our annual Employee of the Year awards.
A note from Colin Watson, Managing Director of Ashfield Commercial and Clinical UK:
“Throughout 2017 everyone has contributed to the successes we’ve had and as always there have been some outstanding contributions by individuals and teams throughout the UK business. It is always hugely rewarding to recognise these achievements with our three “Employee of the Year Award” winners.
In third place this year we have Layla Hornbuckle who works within our training department. Over the last year she has gone above and beyond in providing support and training to all of our new employees – as well as introducing two highly successful internal schemes to promote the Ashfield values.
In second place is Lorna Towndrow who, since joining us, has become a role model for graduates that are new to the industry – and has successfully helped to deliver an important new telephony project in her first few days as Training Operations Manager in our Commercial Contact Centre.
Finally, we have Dan Speight as our well-deserved first place winner. Dan works in our IT department and is well known around the office for his can-do, friendly attitude towards work. He received a huge number of votes from numerous Departments with people commenting that he is always willing to help with problems – IT related or not!
Congratulations to you all, and here’s to a wonderful and successful 2018.”
Layla Hornbuckle – Learning and Development Executive
“I was delighted to be awarded third place in the Ashfield employee of the year awards. It is a real honour and is made even more rewarding knowing that it was peer voted. I work with a fantastic group of people who provide support, encouragement and inspiration to me on a daily basis.
I am passionate about providing the same support and encouragement to others. This year I introduced a values based training scheme into the business and have been extremely proud of the results. I am looking forward to developing more staff with new initiatives in 2018.”
Lorna Towndrow – Training and Operations Manager
“I was incredibly surprised to receive this award and I am really proud to be part of a fantastic Commercial Contact Centre team.
Over the past year, I have been given numerous opportunities to develop both personally and professionally, through the endless support of managers and peers. I am excited to continue my journey at Ashfield and work towards our company vision!”
Daniel Speight – IT Operations 1st Tier Analyst
“It came as a massive surprise to win employee of the year, an achievement which I’m immensely proud of. In the year and a half I’ve been with Ashfield, I’ve been made to feel at home and am always happy to help people who do a brilliant job every single day. I’m also part of a great team who have managed to cope really well with an exceptionally busy year for the IT Department.”
