Ashfield Meetings & Events are delighted to be involved in #FutureEventProfs and The Big Conversation, to be held on 3 March at International Confex.
#FutureEventProfs is specifically aimed at events management students across the UK. The morning conference on Thursday 3 March will provide exclusive opportunities for the students to meet key players within the industry, participate in research and gain valuable insight into how to make the most of an event education and career. The conference has been designed by events management graduates and students at the UK Centre For Events Management (UKCEM) at Leeds Beckett University as part of its celebrations for delivering 20 years of events management education.
Jan Wittkopp (Account Director at Ashfield Meetings & Events and an alumni of Leeds Beckett University) will be taking part in a graduate insights panel session at 10:00, where he’ll be joined by other leading UKCEM graduates as they discuss their careers and answer questions from students.
From 12:00, industry and academic representatives will join The Big Conversation in the Apex Room. The Big Conversation will start with three Pecha Kucha-style, future-focused presentations and then progress to an interactive idea generation session. The ideas generated will be collated, voted on and used for a higher level discussion that will start to shape a new manifesto for the events industry on what talents, knowledge and skills educators and industry will need for the next two decades. Andrew Winterburn (Global Business Director at Ashfield Meetings & Events) will join the panel that will debate and develop the manifesto. Jan Wittkopp will also sit on the graduate panel that will help ensure different perspectives are considered to ensure its relevance. The manifesto will be developed by a more focused group of panels and is set to be presented at the end of the event and then distributed to a wider audience.
