Infusion relocates to larger offices in Middletown, CT to meet space and talent requirements.
Infusion, part of Ashfield Healthcare Communications, recently moved its corporate office from rural Haddam, Connecticut to the more urban Middletown, Connecticut to better address the company’s continuing expansion. Infusion develops medical communications for its small to mid-sized pharmaceutical and biotech clients, many of whom are focusing on rare diseases. The pharmaceutical industry’s movement into specialty and orphan drugs has created increased demand for appropriate scientific and creative talent to translate the underlying science into relevant and powerful scientific communications for healthcare providers. By locating in Middletown, home to Wesleyan University and within easy access of Yale and New York City, Infusion will draw upon a more robust scientific and creative talent pool.
Infusion, founded 10 years ago in East Haddam, CT, has grown over the years from its initial employee base of four to the 45 employed by the company today. Most of this headcount works in the Connecticut office, with a few employees working remotely in Chicago, New York, Michigan and Tennessee. Although the agency had relocated seven years ago to Haddam into larger offices they felt more suitable to their growing staff, it recognised earlier this year that its facility there was not in line with its growth trajectory.
“Today’s healthcare communications agency needs a variety of specialists to understand the specific communication needs of its clients in order to develop effective and multifaceted communications. And with that variety comes the need for more functional and collaborative spaces,” notes Infusion Senior Vice President, Cheryl Sabetta. “Our space in Haddam was not large enough to meet our current and future needs, nor was it convenient to the talent pool areas we need to access to better serve our clients. Middletown is convenient to major interstates and therefore, provides easy access to clients and employees, alike.”
The new Infusion offices provide the agency team with needed additional functional space, updated technology and many “quiet/collaborative” rooms as well as offering an on-site full-service cafeteria, fitness center, credit union, 24/7 security and parking garage. Employees are already relishing the convenience of these perks as well as the access they now enjoy to the great restaurants, coffee shops and shopping in Middletown.
“We are extremely excited about the advantages this new location offers,” states Ashfield Healthcare Communications Executive Director, Matt Jacobson, “Not only do our employees have a more robust and enjoyable community within which to work, we now have the ability to draw upon the talent of the local scientific community to continue to improve how we serve our clients and strengthen how they communicate the impact their medicines can have on rare diseases.”
