We are pleased to announce that Luke Flett (Head Of Sales & Marketing) has joined the EVCOM Educational Committee.
EVCOM, formed from the recent merger of Eventia and the IVCA, is the official voice of the live and visual communication industry in the UK.
The education working committee, led by EVCOM board member Rachel Ley, drives forward the associations involvement in a range of education, training and continuing professional development initiatives for the benefit of its members and for the wider events industry. The committee also work closely with academia and establish strong links between industry practitioners, lecturers and the student community.
Luke commented: “I am delighted to be able to support and contribute to the discussions EVCOM are having on such an important subject as education. Having been involved in our undergraduate placement scheme, our internal training programmes and successfully recruited numerous graduates from a variety of event courses I feel well placed to add value to the committee. The event management landscape is changing and the committee provides a valuable platform to ensure education initiatives are adapting accordingly. The aim is to engage in discussion to ensure fit-for-purpose training and CPD opportunities exist to EVCOM’s wide range of members.”
Luke has guest lectured at the UK Centre For Events Management and ran educational sessions on a variety of topics at industry shows such as IMEX and EIBTM.
