We're pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Mitchell as Head of Syndicated Services, for the Ashfield Commercial business in the UK.
Tom joined Ashfield in September 2008 as a Regional Business Manager (RBM) in the Apex syndicated team which is where his passion for the syndicated model began. In 2010, he secured a Project Manager role heading up the newly-formed Discovery syndicated team.
After seven successful years as a Project Manager, Tom has now been appointed to this important leadership role in one of the most dynamic and fast-paced parts of our business, which now has 170 representatives and 17 RBMs working for a multitude of clients.
Commenting on his new role, Tom said: “I’m thrilled to be leading the development of our syndicated services, with so many highly skilled representatives in our established syndicated teams. The experience, productivity and in-call quality (ICQ) scores of our people mean clients can be proud to have them represent their brands. I look forward to working closely with our BD team to introduce new clients to our syndicated sales solutions, and the benefits they can bring to their brands for many years to come.”
Talking about how his experience in the sector will shape his role, Tom said: “I have worked in the pharmaceutical sector for twenty-eight years as a medical representative, primary care RBM, secondary care RBM, and as a Project Manager so I understand the expectations and ambitions of our clients. With this knowledge, I have been able to agree ambitious objectives with our clients whilst imparting the right levels of urgency, focus, and ultimately delivery into our many syndicated teams.
It’s also critical to ensure that our salesforce is supported, upskilled and developed. Supporting our employees’ career progression and delivering our clients’ brand ambitions are the two most satisfying aspects of my time in syndicated services.”
