Mr. O’Leary studied for and received a MBA in Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, USA. Joined the pharma industry as Medical Representative with Lilly in 1992, graduating to Hospital Representative in 1995.

In 1998, he joined Pharmacia as a Hospital representative, and was soon promoted to Sales Manager. Over the next 4 years, Mr. O’Leary worked across many therapeutic areas including Neuroscience, Urology, Ophthalmology, Anti-infectives and Oncology, and ultimately became Hospital Business Manager in 2001.

More change in 2002, when he joined Janssen as Neuroscience Business Manager to help launch Risperdal Consta. In 2005, he moved to another area of the business, this time as Business Unit Director with responsibility for Pain, Gastro and HIV.

In 2008, Mr. O’Leary left to set up a CSO, Alchemy Healthcare. Alchemy was a CSO, with the express goal of building real partnerships with our clients in competition with Quintiles and Ashfield. It joined forces with Pharmexx in 2010, and in turn were acquired by Ashfield in 2012. Since 2013, he had been Managing Director of Ashfield Ireland and in that timeframe the company consolidated its position as Number 1 CSO with over 60% market share.

In 2017, Mr. O’Leary was appointed as Representative Director for CMIC Ashfield and Ashfield Healthcare Communications K.K.
