A little bit about Andreina

I was born and raised in South America, more specifically, Venezuela. After I graduated as a graphic designer in my home country, I then decided to take the opportunity to expand my experience and work with international companies.

After spending some time in Madrid, I made the risky decision to move to the UK where I luckily found a job with Ashfield Digital & Creative as a Designer in their Production department.

How did you get into the role here at Ashfield Healthcare Communications?

I was studying for my English certificate in Liverpool when I decided to start looking for a job. I came across Ashfield online, and applied for the role of a Presentation Specialist. The interview process was efficient; as the company contacted me much sooner than I expected to tell me, I got the job. This reassured me that Ashfield was a trustworthy company.

After two years in the company, the opportunities for progression has seen me to my role as a Production Designer, where I am involved in much more interactive and technical projects.

What has been your best/favourite day so far?

Recently I was given the opportunity to present one of my projects directly to a client, which meant travelling to Atlanta, US, with the team. I would definitely say that this has been my favourite day so far because the company has demonstrated that they have confidence in my skills.

Tell us one thing you would like to learn, develop or work on in the next 12 months.

I want to learn more about digital design; including animation, websites and prototypes.

Who is your biggest inspiration?

Without hesitation, I would have to say my father. Having been an immigrant since the age of 8, he has always managed to overcome any barriers within his environment.

What 3 words would you use to describe your role?

Fast paced, creative, pragmatic.

Some advice you would give to fellow/current production designers.

Never underestimate how much you can push the boundaries.

Favourite quote?

“Do one thing every day that scares you.” – Eleanor Roosevelt
