Ashfield Healthcare Communications says ‘Aloha’ by hosting Hawaiian themed summer lunch to unite Peakside House staff and support East Cheshire Hospice
Ashfield Healthcare Communications cares deeply about its clients, colleagues and community, which could be seen when staff at the Peakside House office, Macclesfield UK, made space in their busy schedules to give back to the community in aid of East Cheshire Hospice.
On a sunny Wednesday afternoon in June, Peakside House’s outside space was transformed into a Hawaiian haven, for a Luau party complete with Hawaiian music, for all attendees, a Stella and Dot jewellery stand, Indian head massages and a delicious BBQ followed by a chocolate fountain and sweet shop.
There was a real sense of togetherness and fun as colleagues took part in hula hooping and the limbo; with some pretty strong contestants! They even had time for a few photos in their Hawaiian photo booth; which now takes residence in the staff kitchen, as a reminder of the generosity and community spirit of the day, while staff are back at their desks hard at work.
Most importantly, the aim was to support East Cheshire Hospice, in keeping with the strong partnership Ashfield Healthcare Communications has with the charitable organisation. This brought a real sense of worth and purpose to the afternoon in supporting this worthy cause.
From the fundraiser Ashfield Healthcare Communications raised over £300 which East Cheshire Hospice has been delighted to receive.
“Overall the day was a great success, not only were there lots of fun and laughter but we raised a fantastic amount which will contribute to our fundraising efforts for the local charity of choice – East Cheshire Hospice.” said Samantha Smith, Chair of the Peakside House Sports & Social Committee.
Joanna Boyd, Fundraising co-ordinator from East Cheshire Hospice joined the Luau party and wanted to send a personal thank you to all those who took part “On behalf of everyone at East Cheshire Hospice; patients, family, friends, staff and volunteers, thank you so much for your continued support.”
